Beaten firefighter's 'total nightmare'

Long Beach firefighter Brian McNamara's bloodshot eyes are so swollen from being kicked and punched, allegedly by off-duty NYPD cops, that even his big sunglasses don't cover up the black and blue.

"This has been a total nightmare," he said Friday in an interview.

It's been a week since the early-morning beating McNamara, 32, says he got for confronting a group of men who made a nasty comment about his sister, Casey-Ann Lee, 22. McNamara and Lee had just left the Beach House bar.

"They said something not so nice to her. I didn't like it. I let them know that. They argued back with me," McNamara said. Then, he said, he was attacked, and "the fight began to be three guys on one."
