'Dark Knight' Breaks $200M In 5 Days

Another record for the Warner Bros mega-blockbuster, which earned $24.M Monday and $20.8M Tuesday to a domestic cumulative of $203.7M.

The previous record of eight days was held by the usual big-money rogues gallery: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, Spider-Man 2 and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.

Dark Knight currently holds somewhere around $203.8 million after a $20.9 million dollar Sunday, pushing the film over its production budget of $180 million dollars.

The Dark Knight hasn’t even opened world-wide yet, so that total international gross is going to start adding up, not that the film needs it. After five days, it’s already #84 on the list of the top grossing films of all time.
