Are Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson broken up for good?

At least for now.

In statement to E! on Monday, Lindsay Lohan confirms recent reports of her breakup with Samantha Ronson are true: “We are taking a brief break so I can focus on myself.”

The split comes after a tumultuous weekend for the on-again/off-again couple.

The trouble started late Friday, when Lindsay was reportedly banned from Sam’s sister, Charlotte Ronson’s, ‘I Heart Ronson’ for JCPenney party at Los Angeles’ Chateau Marmont.

On Saturday morning, a locksmith was spotted changing the locks at Samantha’s house, where Lindsay had also been residing.

“Why didn’t you go to the party yesterday Lindsay? Were you invited?” a paparazzi asked Lindsay.

“Because I love Samantha and not Charlotte,” Lindsay can be heard saying on the tape. “Charlotte’s not nice to me.”

The proverbial shit hit the fan late Sunday, when Lindsay waged online war against Sam via her Twitter page.

Lindsay Lohan is arguing with on-again off-again girlfriend Samantha Ronson again, this time it’s on her Twitter page.

Here’s what she had to say:

“I was right all along. Cheat. Being cheated on does wonders to you.”
“PLEASE leave me ALONE. and stop staying in the room below me, you’ve woken me and my mother up. go to bed. keep cheating u win.”
“I’m doing this publicly because u&ur friends call people mag..so-you win, you broke my heart. now go away. i loved you”
