Dark Knight setur enn eitt metiš nś ķ DVD og Blu Ray sölu

I was having a conversation yesterday about how to get The Dark Knight DVD to another country. A friend once removed (almost as awkward a phrase as “my friend’s friend”) is currently out of the country, and someone was planning to gift The Dark Knight overseas for the holidays. Discussion of DVD Regions and the locations of friend’s friend’s computer followed.

Point being, The Dark Knight DVD is everywhere. Print ads, television, internet, if you own a DVD or Blu Ray player, chances are you were aware that The Dark Knight DVD and Blu Ray were hitting the shelves.

Which might explain how The Dark Knight Blu Ray shattered Iron Man’s 250,000 single day and 400,000 first week sales by moving 600,000 Blu Ray discs.

And that’s just Blu Ray…

From DHD:

But wait til you see what The Dark Knight sold in both formats, standard def and hi-def: 3 million copies bought by customers in the U.S., Canada and the UK on its first day in stores. That’s 3x the norm. This isn’t a superhero, it’s a cash cow! The Dark Knight was not only 2008’s best DVD sales day, but is also likely to be 2008’s bestseller of the year by next week with a projected number of 7 million units.

This is after The Dark Knight became the most downloaded movie on the iTunes store after only logging in pre-orders.

There are few records safe from The Dark Knight, especially after it returns to theaters this January.
