UPDATE: Police have identified a suspect in the case, according to MTV News. William Balfour is a black male in his 20s and should be treated as armed and dangerous. Authorities have confirmed that Hudson's nephew, Julian King, has been kidnapped.

The 1994 white Chevy suburban that police are looking for is registered to both Jennifer Hudson's sister Julia Hudson and Balfour, leading authorities to believe that the two were engaged in a romantic relationship.

Possible license plate numbers are: X584859 or a green Chrysler Concord, with the license plate 332K823.

Neighbors first reported hearing shots around 8 a.m. and there is no evidence of forced entry.

UPDATE: An Amber Alert had been issued for 7-year-old Julian King, who might be a relative of Hudson's. The two deaths are being viewed as possibly being the result of a domestic dispute and authorities were searching for a 1994 white Chevrolet Suburban that had been missing from the area.

At this point, the police are looking into how these facts are related.

Earlier today, Jennifer Hudson's mother Darnell Donerson and brother Jason Hudson have been found dead. Police are investigating the incident, which took place at Hudson's mother's home in Chicago.

According to the medical examiner's office in Cook County, authorities arrived to a South Side residence where the bodies of a woman and man had been discovered shot and killed.

The home was under Jennifer's mother's name, and police were dispatched to the residence where they discovered the two individuals to be unresponsive at 2:44 p.m.

 

“We can confirm that there is an ongoing investigation concerning the deaths of Jennifer Hudson’s mother, Darnell Donerson, and her brother, Jason Hudson,” Lisa Kasteler, a rep for the actress, said in a statement Friday. “No further comment will be made and the family has asked that their privacy be respected at this difficult time.”

According to the Associated Press, Chicago Police are looking for William Balfour in connection with the slayings. Authorities have issued an Amber Alert for 7-year-old Julian King, Balfour’s son with Jennifer’s older sister Julia. They are seeking a 1994 white Chevrolet Suburban.

Update: William Balfour, 27, has been taken into custody and is being questioned by authorities, the Associated Press reports. Police say Balfour is not cooperating, but no charges have been filed. Julian King, Jennifer’s 7-year-old nephew is still missing.
