Bikini season is coming up, but don’t use that as an excuse to take some Hydroxycut looking to quickly lose some weight. The FDA recalled the product today over reports that the supplement causes liver damage and other health problems.

Hydroxycut is probably the most popular weight loss supplement on the market, selling over 1 million bottles every year. Hydroxycut ingredients are supposedly “all natural”, which has always struck me as being a bit meaningless. I wonder exactly which “natural” ingredient is the one attacking the liver? Hydroxycut is linked to 23 cases of Liver problems, including one fatal case involving a 19 year old male.

Dietary supplements aren’t regulated very strictly by the FDA, which makes it surprising that this sort of thing doesn’t happen more often.

Newlyweds Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag are steering clear of the swine flu.

The stars of MTV’s The Hills – who tied the knot in Pasadena on Saturday — made the trip to Cabo San Lucas on Sunday to shoot a music video for the bride’s latest murdered hit “Sex Ed,” but the two are heading home and ending their brief honeymoon early because of the influenza outbreak in the country.

“After the best day of both our lives, Heidi and I left L.A. Sunday for Cabo to shoot the music video for Heidi’s new single ‘Blackout’. We planned to stay through Sunday,” Spencer said Wednesday. “Unfortunately, due to the pig flu epidemic, the Pratts are headed home this evening. Heidi’s new EP is available on iTunes today. Check it out!”

It’s a big week for scandals on the bauty pageant circuit: Miss Universe Australia finalist Stephanie Naumoska sparked controversy on Thursday when the rail-thin beauty queen was selected as one of 32 finalists to compete in Australia’s Miss Universe contest, a competition that supposedly encourages “healthy, proportioned, bodies.”

Stephanie, who is 5 ft. 11 in. tall and weighs 108 lbs, has a body mass index of just 15.1. Australian health professionals say the 19-year-old is malnourished.

“The Tonight Show” host Jay Leno has been hospitalized.

According to reports, Leno checked himself into a hospital Thursday for an undisclosed illness.

The Thursday and Friday tapings of “The Tonight Show” have been canceled.

Ryan Reynolds, Jules Sylvester and swing band Big Bad Voodoo Daddy were scheduled to appear on the Thursday show, which was replaced with a repeat of the episode featuring Paul Giamatti, Emma Roberts and Prince.

CNN anchor Anderson Cooper was slated to appear Friday.

This is a rare cancellation for Leno, who will bow out as the host of “Tonight” on May 29.

I don’t have much more information regarding this than The Hollywood Reporter does, but I have been hearing reports that Leno was joking with doctors and nurses, even trying out monologue jokes on them, and that he’s expected to return to work on Monday.

That doesn’t make it sound too serious, but this is the first Tonight Show Jay has missed in 17 years.
