Variety reports Mel Gibson is reemerging from the archaic language directing, scandal ridden, anti-Semitic diatribe filled eccentricity that has been the last six years of his life. The Gib will be returning to the screen in Edge of Darkness , relinquishing the directorial reigns to Martin Campbell (of Casino Royale fame). The film is a based on a mini-series Campbell directed in 1985 and will feature murder, crime, and presumably some intrigue. De Niro is in talks to star opposite The Gib as a governmental agent sent in to cover up the murder, crime, and presumptive intrigue.
