Simon Cowell has told The Sun that he is exhausted from working on The X Factor, Britain's ot Talent and American Idol.

Simon said "Last year was tough and I really felt it around about the end of the year. There's a lot of pressure that comes with making the shows, running the record label and running the TV production company. I got to the point where I was doing Idol, finishing auditions, getting room service at 10pm and then working for another six or seven hours on the British stuff. You do that week after week, month after month and it takes its toll on you. It's a nice position to be in, but we may have to adapt a few things. Eventually something may have to give."

Either Britney Spears has a rather convincing imposter or the pop star is desperate to be free from father and conservator, Jamie Spears.

In a recording making the rounds on the Internet this Monday, a woman identifying herself as Britney Spears is heard leaving a voicemail asking a lawyer to help her build a case to have her father removed as conservator of her estate.

On the tape, she says:

“Hi my name’s Briney Spears. I called you earlier. I’m calling again because I just wanted to make sure that during the process of the eliminating the conservatorship that my father has threatened me several times, that you know, he’ll take my children away. I just want to be guaranteed that everything will be fine with the process and that you guys are taking care of everything, that things will stay the same as far as my custodial time. That’s it, bye.”

The stunning Indian-born actress– who got her star in the Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire–is set to turn down a role as a legendary Bond Girl because she fears the sexy role could ruin her image.

Bond producer Barbara Broccoliant wants Freida, 24, to star opposite Daniel Craig in the next 007 adventure, but industry tipsters say the star has already decided to snub the part .

A source tells The Boston Globe: “She’s been inundated with offers following the success of ‘Slumdog’. Because of this she can afford to be choosy and take only the roles that she feels are right for her. Right now that doesn’t include being a Bond girl. That’s not the kind of image she wants to project although she is flattered to be linked to the Bond franchise.”

Freida has accepted a part in the next movie from acclaimed director Woody Allen, which will be shot in London.

Officials have confirmed Madonna is adopting a 3-year-old girl, Mercy James, from Malawi.

"The adoption is going ahead," Malawi's Director of Child Welfare Services, Penstone Kilembe, tells Usmagazine.com. "It has been at an advanced stage for some time."

Mercy will be Madonna's fourth child, and second child from the African country. David Banda, 3, was adopted in 2006.

The girl is "has no father and mother, they both died...We finished the assessment yesterday in readiness for the courts next week," an official at the ministry of Gender and Child Development told Reuters.

Madonna is due in court Monday. Her rep Liz Rosenberg has yet to comment.

Earlier this week, New York's Daily News reported that Madonna's attempts to adopt again could be hindered due to her love life.

"Our official policy is that we do not encourage our children to be sent into broken homes," a senior official from Malawi's Ministry of Women and Child Welfare Development said of the singer, who has romanced 22-year-old model Jesus Luz and Alex Rodriguez since divorcing Guy Ritchie last year. "Her relationships may negatively affect the adoption of Mercy."

Madonna has expressed interest in wanting to adopt another child.

"Many people - especially our Malawian friends - say that David should have a Malawian brother or sister," she recently told Malawi's The Nation newspaper. "It's something I have been considering but would only do if I had the support of the Malawian people and the government."

A publicist for DJ Steve Angello is calling Paris Hilton and her new chew toy, Doug Reinhardt, liars after the couple accused the club mixer of inciting an assault on the heiress and a brawl between Doug and a security guard during a party at the Fountainebleu Hotel in Miami early Friday. 

Surely you guys have heard about this by now–it’s the usual tomfoolery that seems to follow Paris and her victims to whatever city has the misfortune of hosting them–but you can read Steve and Paris’ very different accounts of what happened here.

 Paris Hilton is speaking out about the brawl that broke out between her boyfriend Doug Reinhardt and Miami-based DJ Steve Angello at the Fountainebleu Restaurant early this morning.

On Friday, the heiress sat down blogged about the incident in a post entitled “Clearing Up a Few Things:”

“First of all, last night at a club my boyfriend and I were assaulted for no reason at all. The DJ (I don’t even know his name cause he sucks so bad) was playing the worst music ever! I like certain techno music, but this was not even danceable and was frankly giving me a migraine. I asked one of my friends who runs the hotel if he could change the music and he said ‘I’ll lead you up to the DJ booth tell him and he’ll play whatever you want.’ So he walked Doug and I over there. I asked the DJ if he could please play Daft Punk or Bob Sinclair and he rudely snapped at me and was like ‘I only play this kind of music.’ I think he was jealous cause Bob Sinclair is a far better DJ then this guy by about a million times. He was so unbelievably rude and all because I asked to play one good song. Then out of nowhere his bodyguard (don’t ask me why he has a bodyguard, like he really needs one. Ha) pushed me really hard, that’s when my boyfriend, like my knight in shining armor, stepped in and told the guy to keep his hands off of me. Then all hell broke loose…..

DJ Steve Angello took to his Twitter page in his own defense today, saying, “i cant believe i woke up last night to some of the bullsh** on the internet about what happened with Paris Hilton” and then, “for someone who claims to make records…dont come into a booth and ask me to play hip hop and then have your doorman slap me.”

 

 

According to DJ Steve’s camp, it was the heiress who started the drama when she stomped into the spinner’s booth and arrogantly demaded that he alter his playlist.

“Their ’story’ is not what happened at all,” Matt Learmouth, a rep for DJ Steve Agnello, said in a statement to PopCrunch on Friday. “She berated the DJ -Steve Angello - constantly asking him to play hip hop. The guy is a dance/electro dj, as a ‘musician’ she should know better than to stop an artist playing their music - especially at their own party (it was his event at LIV with DJ AM).”

“He refused, her bodyguard smacked him in the face, then Steve fought back against the guard. Wouldn’t normally do anything with stories like this, but her security overstepped the mark, and she’s putting out false info.”

The blonde stars have split twice since meeting on the set of their film You, Me, & Dupre in August 2006. Owen even attempted suicide after a particularly painful separation in 2007. Nonetheless, after getting engaged during a trip to France last month, Owen and Kate are forging ahead by walking down the aisle.

“This time, it’s for real,” an unnamed source says. “They don’t want to ever be apart again.”

“They’re planning to do it in June,” the insider adds, “They aren’t sure where yet, but it’s between her mom Goldie Hawn’s home in Aspen or Owen’s place in Hawaii. It will be a private affair, with only close pals and family.”

This will be the second marriage for 29-year-old Kate, who Divorced Black Crowes rocker Chris Robinson last year. And like every blushing bride, the Almost Famous star is said to be in search of the perfect wedding gown.

According to Star: “She looked at some designers when she and Owen were in Paris. She’s really into Dior, but hasn’t chosen anything yet.”

Miley Cyrus isn’t looking to part company with her on screen alter ego. In this week’s edition of Billboard, the 16-year-old star sounds off on rumors that she’s ready to break free of her breakout role as Disney’s “Hannah Montana” after three successful seasons on the series.

“This movie was never meant to be the end of Hannah Montana.”

“The thing is, a lot of people put where the show’s future lays in my hands – and it’s not up to me. It’s up to Disney and whether they want more episodes, and we hope that they do.”

Paramount extends deal with Abrams

Studio stays with Bad Robot until 2013

Paramount Pictures has extended its overall deal with J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot Prods., keeping the company on the lot through 2013.

The deal comes as the studio moves into promotional warp speed for the May 8 release of "Star Trek," which Abrams directed and produced.

Abrams and long-time producing partner Bryan Burk set the company at Paramount in July 2006.

Bad Robot is growing into an important supplier of the Paramount film slate. The company's first release was "Cloverfield," which grossed $170 million worldwide. "Star Trek" is the company's second film, and Bad Robot begins production in June on "Morning Glory," the Roger Michel-directed film that stars Harrison Ford and Rachel McAdams to be released in 2010.

"Today's announcement is meaningful to me in many ways," Paramount Pictures Corporation chairman/CEO Brad Grey said. "Bad Robot was one of the first deals we made to help rebuild the studio. J.J. has since become part of the fabric of Paramount, and we look forward to continuing our fruitful creative collaboration for many years to come."

"Bad Robot has had an incredibly fun and productive collaboration with Paramount," Abrams said. "We feel like we're just getting started."

Britney spends $2.7 Million on legal fees

Court papers show Britney Spears has spent at least $2.7 million in legal fees over the past 11 months.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the singer's estate has probably paid much more since she's been under the conservatorship of her father, Jamie.

The documents -- filed Monday -- also show Spears paid $460,000 in legal fees for her divorce and custody proceedings with Kevin Federline, $113,000 fighting a Florida civil suit against her former manager and $26,000 in her driving-without-a-license trial.

She also paid for services indirectly associated with her many court appearances, such as $4,600 to hire a private messenger service to confidentially deliver legal documents, and $25 to reserve a private courthouse to try to keep her legal proceedings private.

The Times reports that half a dozen attorneys showed up to represent her at a recent court appearance, causing an opposing lawyer to wonder aloud, "Which one of you am I supposed to talk to?"
