Some bad guys broke into Lindsay Lohan's home this afternoon and messed it up good ... or so it seemed.

Law enforcement sources tell us at around 3 PM PT today, the alarm company that services the house notified cops that the alarm had been tripped. When police arrived, there was evidence of a break-in. There were pry marks on the back door and tampering with the back window. It appears nothing was taken but the house was ransacked, at least that's what responding officers thought.

Now one law enforcement source tells us ... it doesn't look like the house was ransacked after all ... "it was just messy." !!!!!

Lindsay was not at the house during the break-in. The LAPD is conducting an investigation.

On Monday, lawyers for actress Brooke Shields released a statement in response to reports that the witnessed the alleged argument — and subsequent headbutting –between Kiefer Sutherland and fashion designer Jack McCollough that lead to the 24 star’s collar on third degree assault charges last Friday.

Kiefer allegedly headbutted the Proenza Schouler designer during a MET Costume Gala afterparty last week.

“A number of statements have been attributed to Ms. Shields in the media that are neither true nor authorized. These statements were obviously made by those who were not in attendance at the party and constitute their version of events,” her lawyers told Entertainment Tonight.

“While at the party she [Shields] was bumped into by Jack McCollough and Kiefer Sutherland became concerned. Kiefer has always been a gentleman in her company. Both Jack and Kiefer are friends of Ms. Shields and she regrets this unfortunate situation,” the statment continued.

The 47-year-old former Culture Club singer - real name George O’Dowd - left Suffolk’s Edmunds Hill Prison Monday morning after serving just four months of his 15-month sentence for the false imprisonment and assault of male escort Audun Carlsen in 2007.

Rihanna is reportedly devastated and has high-tailed it to Hawaii after photos allegedly showing the singer in the nude were leaked online late Friday.

The “Umbrella” hitmaker, 21, is accused of taking seven suggestive snaps of herself in various states of undress in a hotel bathroom mirror. In another of the photos, her accused batterer, R&B singer Chris Brown, also appears, adorned with a pair of pink knickers on top of his head.

“She is freaking out. She was on the road to recovery after a terrible few months,” a friend of the 21-year-old blabbed to Britain’s News of the World this weekend. “She has no idea how these pictures have been leaked but she’s determined to find out.”

The pal added, “She’s rushed off to Hawaii to escape the scrutiny. She’s recording her new album and wants to shut herself in the studio away from the world for a few days.”

Late Thursday, the 22-year-old actress and her friend assaulted the snapping photogs with raw eggs and pizzas after they were followed home after a night out in Hollywood. Looks like Lindsay’s aim isn’t so good, as her Rolls Royce ended up smeared with most of the food.

“We are happy to confirm that Maggie and Peter were married on Saturday,” reps for both stars said in a statement Monday.

The couple — who began dating in 2002 — announced their engagement in 2006, right around the time that they welcomed the arrival of daughter Ramona.
