Oscar-winning Spanish sweethearts Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem are engaged, according to reports. The 35-year-old actress is planning to walk down the aisle with her 40-year-old beau.

“They’re telling friends they will get married,” a friend of the couple told The New York Daily News’ Rush & Molloy Column of the hush hush engagement on Sunday.

Penelope — who won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in Woody Allen’s Vicky Cristina Barcelona at last year’s Academy Awards — has been plagued by pregnancy rumors since the couple was spotted leaving an OB/GYN clinic in Madrid last month,
